Whoever knows more and gets to the answer first has the advantage. Avoid Surprises & Get ahead of the issues fast. Catelas’ Early Case Intelligence & Identification platforms identify the key people and uncovers the hot documents in a dataset within hours of data load – before any content has been collected and the review has begun. This allows legal counsel to define their case strategy with precision, much earlier in the process, and cut costs by focusing downstream efforts.
Outsourced review costs are significantly reduced as the collection is focused and the review process is prioritized. This is especially valuable in overseas matters where operations are not as well documented. Preservation risk & collection costs are both reduced significantly.

Our approach is different
Underpinning all cases such as antitrust, FCPA, regulatory issues, fraud, contract disputes, IP theft, HR issues and so many more, are people. People and who they know are the center of all business and business disputes. Catelas patented algorithms uniquely combine Relationship Analytics, Behavioral Science and Social Network Analysis to automatically uncover how people are connected and who matters within these large datasets. The key people are identified and ‘hot documents’ isolated within hours not weeks. Our approach is different, so results are delivered faster and with greater precision.
Early Case Intelligence & Identification
Catelas’ patented relationship algorithms first isolate the key people and relationships within any dataset. This information is presented as a ‘hot network’ which shows the custodians, their connections and relationships through which they conduct business both internally and externally. The content represented by the overlap of key relationships within this network that are also responsive to the initial keywords is then tagged. Using the Catelas integration with kCura’s Relativity, these tags are exported such that the same content is tagged as ‘Priority Review’ content within the review process.
In most cases, the ‘hot documents’ lie within this network. Catelas then performs Keyword search term analysis, whereby Content Clustering technology is used to ‘discover’ the key terms and phrases used within this network. These keywords and traditional terms are then used to search all the content within the ‘hot network’ and the subsequent results are further mapped, allowing the key conversations to be visualized and understood in context. This process reduces the corpus by over 96% and allows the analyst to quickly review the most relevant content and identify the ‘hot documents’.
The resulting report is the Catelas Early Case Intelligence report detailing the key people, key words and ‘hot documents’ associated with the matter – delivered in hours, not weeks.
